The Shepherd Park Plaza Area is located in Northwest Houston, just outside Houston’s “inner loop”. This area of town consists of 3 main neighborhood, Shepherd Park Plaza, Candlelight Plaza, and Pineforest. The most sought after neighborhoods being Shepherd Park Plaza and Candlelight Plaza, located south of Pinemont and east of Ella Blvd.
The homes in the area were built primarily in the late 50s early 60s. The homes are a mixture of 1 story and 2 story ranch and traditional style homes. Many people are drawn to these to neighborhoods by the size of the homes and the number of bedrooms as compared with closer in neighborhoods such as Timbergrove Manor and Lazybrook. Many of the homes are 4 to 5 bedrooms and over 2500 square feet.
Much of the area is full of great sidewalks and public green space. Shepherd Park Plaza and Candlelight Plaza are really well maintained and great places for kids to play.
This area is becoming more and more popular as the elementary schools and adjoining Oak Forest and Garden Oaks neighborhoods continue to improve. The neighborhood is a great area for young families and first time home buyers that want home that has some room to grow into.
